In the mirror universe, Captain Mulgrave Dwi of the Empire warship Sheppard sets out to crash a renegade/mercenary meeting in the Midgar sector.

Prelude

''Captain's Log

Stardate 101120''

Location: Onboard the imperial Warship USS Sheppard, Somewhere in the Midgar Sector"

"Captains log, Stardate 101120."

(A pale blue andorian face appears on the screen)

We have been out in this festering hole of a sector for too long and the displeasure of the admiral has been extensive. The ship and crew he has given me to command are nothing but a bunch of despots hardly worthy of the title warship of the empire. I think i may have located a way to get myself out of this backward sector and away from this useless crew - it seems the Empire has picked up intelligence of a meeting between the rebel faction and their mercenary allies. According to the information, they will be meeting to discuss an important trade with a powerful species known as the Nabraithians.

The Warship Daggerfall has been dispatched to intercept and remove this threat. However, the Sheppard is closer and if i can gain this information and use it to my own ends I may very well gain enough prestige and perhaps even a powerful ally. They system is known as the Nykotos system and we should arrive within a few hours.

(the Andorian smiles evilly then ends the log)

Events

The Sheppard assumed position behind an asteroid and listened, hiding, while the rebel ship Nebula and the mercenary ship Renegade met to discuss an exchange of highly-sensitive information regarding the Nabraithians. After the Renegade's captain beamed over to the rebel ship, Captain Dwi ordered tactical to fire on the two vessels and disable them. The Renegade got away, but its commander, Leo Ravenheart, and the Nebula's captain, Miqu Naidoo, were made prisoners by a boarding party from the Sheppard.

After destroying the Nebula, the Sheppard crew proceeded to interrogate the two prisoners to gain the information about the Nabraithians. Meanwhile, on the bridge, the Captain directed an attack to destroy the incoming ISS Daggerfall, and then ordered the helm to give chase to the escaping mercenary ship.

In the brig, Executive Officer Dana Dimsum managed to retrieve a locked data card from Captain Naidoo, but despite being subjected to torture, the mercenary captain refused to reveal the encryption key for the card.

On the bridge, Commander Nakamura ordered the mercenaries from the disabled Renegade beamed into space and fired upon one by one. In the brig, Captain Dwi dismissed the officers guarding the rebel Naidoo so she could have a private chat with him - but instead of leaving, Lt. Jess Hamelin, the head of Security, assassinated the Captain and then made a shipwide announcement that she was assuming command of the ship.
