UFS is plunged into a state of paranoia as they come to terms with the fact their defences were so easily breached by pirates who were fed critical security information from within the ranks of UFS.

Prelude

UFS command were finding the recent events with the Orion pirates culminating in the abduction of Admiral Calhoun hard to come to terms with. For defences to be breached on numerous occasions with such ease should have been near impossible unless they had inside information.

Distrust and paranoia of fellow officers right throughout the fleet becomes widespread as attempts are made to unearth the enemy within.

Events

The time is ripe for change, or so that is what I've heard. Down with the current regime, up with a brighter future. That's what we've been hearing as of late, and as a result, we must be on high alert. A recent attack, which left our Fleet in tatters, our defenses exploited, an Admiral nearly taken... It all leads me to believe that something dark is at work here, something insidious.

How were the pirates able to get in so easily? How did they know exactly where the Admiral would be yesterday? All these questions, all these...doubts, are enough to make me believe that someone or something is leaking information. The Pirates recent attacks, their recent grabs have been spot on, right where we were weakest. How did they know, and more so, what can we do to ensure it does not happen again?

Who are our neighbors? Who can we trust in times such as these when even our own people are suspect? Whispers of rebellion have been heard in both Excalibur and Pinastri sectors. But who are they working for, what can they hope to achieve or rather even succeed against a force such as our own. As of this moment, we are not sure who we can trust. As of this moment, all are suspect. As of this moment, we are at war with our greatest enemy, that enemy which we cannot see, we are at war with ourselves.

As reports come in we see ourselves lead to the brink of a coming threat, a cloud which cannot be penetrated, a Red Sun is Rising...
