Prelude

Commanding Officer Poison Toocool - Log, Stardate 120309: I have received a report from LTjg David7 Bravin, Captain of the USS Mak'ala. The ship is in ghost surveillance, following The Starfish at a safe distance, but ready to respond if needed. UFS personnel are working to study the items found aboard the cargo vessel, and continue to question its crew, currently in quarantine aboard Mak'ala.

A hand-picked team of UFS officers, Lead by LT Cmdr Dolfke Barbosa, is aboard the cargo ship, following its plotted course, attempting to discover who is waiting for its illicit cargo on Treman. Their last encrypted communique said they entered the Treman system and hid behind a moon as they prepare for their covert mission to the planet's surface in search of the other party trading with the freighter's captain - this action was somewhat delayed by the advent of an ion storm. Alarmingly, our IAD agent, Ensign Saraleah Sands, disappeared while searching The Starfish's cargo bays. They were unable to locate her via internal sensors... but she eventually emerged from a secret compartment, having found weaponary and records of an active pirate ring covering the Astraios Sector and beyond...

Events

Reporting: LT Cmdr Dolfke Barbosa, The Starfish: We had a very rough travel to Tremans surface, but at last we found the away party safe and well at a small airport. I ordered to split up in 2 search parties, one formed by the civilian engineer Mr. Quinn and security officer Ensign Drake Liverpool, the other one with science officer LT London and me. Unfortunately Ens. Liverpool understood me poorly and he joined the second one.

At the airport, we saw an UFS like Shuttle, with the colors of Treman on it, and in the surrounding shops over there we saw some Starfleet material for sale. Could it be one of our missing Shuttles and material stolen from us by pirate attacks ? Sure we need to come back to investigate this more deeply, I suggest an investigation by Intel, followed by a raid of our Marine Troopers to learn them a lesson here.

More disturbing, we found in one of the shops some crates, similar on those we discovered at the Starfish, indicating it was not the first delivery of those dreadful and very dangerous containers.

Mr. Quin called us to get our attention on an important discovery in the nearby temple. Then we met Agent Herbit, he seemed our contact for the trade. I tried to get more information from him, and negotiate again over the price to the crates containing the dangerous viruses he wanted us to deliver in exchange of pure latinum.

He let us to some temple, where we discovered some crates full of gold. Agent Herbits associate, Zhieela Brruxls, heavily armed, pointed her phaser rifle at us. We had to convince her we were crew from the freighter and not Starfleet officers, as she did know the Starfish captain personally and did not recognized me as the new captain.

At that point, Mr. London and Mr. Quinn could get her trust by telling her and Agent Herbit that the captain of the freighter died when he came too close to the crates they were transporting.

Mr. London had put some tracking device on the crates, and Dr Markus had before neutralized the virus content, so we decided to get the transfer done, and receive our gold.

We are sure the planet covers many more secrets, we need to investigate and explore as soon we get the possibility. The environment is pretty hostile.
