Prelude

Upon docking at Starbase 427, the USS Redeemer began receiving its refit. Among the improvements are a new science lab, some new recreational facilities, a tractor beam integrity upgrade, allowing for towing at speeds of up to warp 5.7, and last but most importantly, the ship received one of the latest and greatest innovations in the history of the Federation: seatbelts!

The only other ship to receive such an awesome improvement was the USS Enterprise-E, but only the captain reserved that high honor. On the USS Redeemer, it was bestowed upon the captain and his XO.

Following the refit, the USS Redeemer was ordered to return to Pinastri, Sector001 to pick up a group of cadets from the orbiting Athena Station for a 2 day cadet cruise to teach them about life aboard a starship.

________________________________________

The Captain walks onto the bridge and is ultimately surprised by the redesign of his bridge.

________________________________________

Chase Quinnell walks onto the bridge and looks around. "What the hell have they done to my bridge?!"
Diemme Morane is checking what they've done to her helm
Vinnie Lei: I don't know, but I hope they added DooM II in the game database.
Diemme Morane: the angle is all wrong... they bent the helm
Chase Quinnell: It's already in the database, Vinnie.
Diemme Morane grumbles...
Vinnie Lei: Oh, yeah, oops.
Chase Quinnell sighs. "We're gonna have to break 'er in again
Chase Quinnell: Computer, activate bridge consoles.

The bridge consoles all come to life::

________________________________________

The Redeemer is cleared to leave drydock by the station commander and proceeds to slowly back out of the bay doors. The order is given to return to Pinastri so that the Redeemer can pick up its cadet contingent when the warp drive fails and goes offline.

________________________________________

Vinnie goes down to Engineering to check out the problem and to help out. Reports came in from Mess Hall about a rogue replicator shooting Hot fudge sundays at people while other decks reported similar auxiliary systems malfunctions.

13:50] Orion Pastorelli blinks, " you should see this, I am receiving ops reports? We have massive malfunctions in the mess hall, the replicators seem to be launching ... hot fudge sundays? at random crew members..."
[13:50] Chase Quinnell: Hot fudge what?
[13:50] Orion Pastorelli: sundays sir, its an earth desert...
[13:51] Chase Quinnell: Oh yea..
[13:51]  : Chase Quinnell: =/\= Quinnell to Lt. Vinnie, I need you to have someone check the replicators in the mess hall. They're spitting sundays at people.. =/\=
[13:52] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Aye sir. I will assign Ensign Biteme on it. =/\=

Mission Logs

[13:08] Chase Quinnell walks onto the bridge and looks around. "What the hell have they done to my bridge?!"
[13:09] Diemme Morane is checking what they've done to her helm
[13:09] Vinnie Lei: I don't know, but I hope they added DooM II in the game database.
[13:09] Diemme Morane: the angle is all wrong... they bent the helm
[13:09] Chase Quinnell: It's already in the database, Vinnie.
[13:09] Diemme Morane grumbles...
[13:10] Vinnie Lei: Oh, yeah, oops.
[13:10] Chase Quinnell sighs. "We're gonna have to break 'er in again.
[13:10] Chase Quinnell: Computer, activate bridge consoles.
[13:10]  ::The bridge consoles all come to life::
[13:10] Vinnie Lei: Just don't think about crashing the ship, again.
[13:10] Diemme Morane: Hmm.. if we crash it again, will they put my helm panels back the way they're supposed to be?
[13:11] Vinnie Lei: No.
[13:11] Chase Quinnell chuckles, "I don't know, Diemme."
[13:11] Orion Pastorelli begins configuring the bridge science station to incorperated input from the new science lab.
[13:11] Diemme Morane checks the link to Ops....
[13:11] Chase Quinnell sits in his chair and notices a small note attached to his CONN panel, "Push me"
[13:11] Diemme Morane: it's responsive... at least there's that...
[13:11] Chase Quinnell frowns.
[13:12] Diemme Morane prepares to duck
[13:12] Chase Quinnell pushes the button and straps suddenly come over his shoulders.
[13:12] Diemme Morane is JEALOUS!!!
[13:12] Chase Quinnell: I'll be darned..
[13:12] Vinnie Lei: Fancy...
[13:12] Chase Quinnell: 'bout time.
[13:12] Diemme Morane: you'd think they'd want the helm officer to be able to stay in HER seat too....
[13:13]  ::The station is hailing the Redeemer::
[13:13] Diemme Morane grumbles something incoherent...
[13:13] Vinnie Lei: open hailing frequencies.
[13:13] Diemme Morane: hailing frequencies open, sir
[13:13] Vinnie Lei: Redeemer to station, we are receiving you, go ahead.
[13:14] Orion Pastorelli configures his station to receive input from the new science lab.
[13:14] Commander Stone: =/\= Hello Vinnie, Chase. You are cleared to leave drydock at your convenience. =/\=
[13:14] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Understood sir, anything else?
[13:15] Diemme Morane verifies if they uploaded all her flight patterns and customized maneuvers...
[13:15] =/\= Yes, one other thing.. You are going to Pinastri to pick up a small contingent at Athena Station =/\=
[13:15] Chase Quinnell: The Academy station?
[13:15] Diemme Morane grumbles... mumbles something about something not being all there...
[13:16] Orion Pastorelli: *configures his station to accept input from the new science station* [13:16] =/\= Yes, Lt. You're going on a cadet cruise. =/\=
[13:16] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Orders received and understood. Redeemer out.
[13:16] Chase Quinnell: =/\= Stone out. =/\=
[13:17] Diemme Morane runs the diagnostics that she prepared earlier
[13:17] Vinnie Lei: Helm, maneuvering thrusters and move to the starbase bay doors.
[13:17] Diemme Morane looks at her CO. Cadets? They better not get my helm panels all sticky with their goobery fingers....
[13:17]  ::The docking clamps release their hold::
[13:17] Diemme Morane: Aye sir, Maneuvering thrusters engaged
[13:17] Chase Quinnell: This is going to be a long trip.
[13:18] Vinnie Lei: Indeed.
[13:18] Diemme Morane: in position before the door, sir
[13:18] Chase Quinnell: Transmit transponder codes.
[13:18]  ::The stabase bay doors open::
[13:18] Orion Pastorelli: *recollects some fond memories from his academy days*
[13:19] Diemme Morane slowly maneuvers us out ...
[13:18] Chase Quinnell: Helm, set course for Pinastri and.....
[13:19] Chase Quinnell: engage at warp 5.
[13:19] Diemme Morane: course laid in, sir.
[13:19] Chase Quinnell: That should give us enough time.
[13:19] Diemme Morane: Warp 5 engaged
[13:19]  ::The ship moves to go to warp but then slows to a stop::
[13:19] Vinnie Lei: I rather go to Warp 9 and get it over with *grunts and laughs*
[13:19] Vinnie Lei: Say wha...?
[13:19] Diemme Morane SWEARS IN FRENCH
[13:19] Diemme Morane checks helm....
[13:19] Chase Quinnell: Incompetence.
[13:19] Vinnie Lei: Urgh, I bet those guys at the stations screwed something up with the upgrade.
[13:19] Diemme Morane: engines offline sir
[13:20] Chase Quinnell: Probably
[13:20] Chase Quinnell: Orion, any idea what happened?
[13:20] Diemme Morane runs a level 2 diagnostic on the helm...
[13:21] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Bridge to Engineering, what's going on?
[13:22] Ens. Exonar: =/\= Engineering here, we're working on it. We seem to have blown various plasma conduits =/\=
[13:22] Vinnie Lei: =/\= darn. Cause?
[13:22] Diemme Morane thinks we should just turn back and make them put her back the way she was.....
[13:23] Ens. Exonar: =/\= Unknown sir. When we went to warp, the warp bubble just collapsed. Our impulse drive was also impaired. We're dead in the water =/\=
[13:23] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Understood. I want an update in 20 minutes. Bridge out.
[13:23] Ens. Exonar: =/\= Aye sir. =/\=
[13:24] Diemme Morane does the backstroke...
[13:24] Chase Quinnell: Vinnie, could you get down there and help them out?
[13:24] Vinnie Lei: Yessir.
[13:24] Chase Quinnell: Keep an open comm.
[13:24] Diemme Morane gets the report from the diagnostics...
[13:24]  ::Vinnie takes the turbolift to Engineering::
[13:25] Chase Quinnell: Orion, can you attempt to determine what they did to cause the problem?
[13:25] Diemme Morane: Sir, helm diagnostics shows a .02 microsecond delay in responsiveness...
[13:25] Diemme Morane: In other words, she's driving like a truck
[13:25] Chase Quinnell: Perhaps they misaligned the computer core?
[13:25] Chase Quinnell: Computer lag shouldn't happen.
[13:46] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Engineering to bridge. Initiate radiation protocols level one. I don't know what those guys did, but the chief said the implementation of a gelpack system in engineering has... negative effects. So much for testing before using.
[13:47] Orion Pastorelli checks this readings, "sir, till then, I would recommend allocating extra power to anti-matter containment, to avoid more radiations leaks in the immediate future."
[13:46] Vinnie Lei: =/\= After radiation cleanup, we can proceed at maximum Warp 2 and need purging of the antimatter at a starbase, according to the chief here.
[13:48] Diemme Morane: Sir, we should put in a request to have our comms system verified as well... we're experiencing some echo.
[13:48] Chase Quinnell: I do not think we need to re-allocate the power.
[13:49] Chase Quinnell: I believe that is part of the radiation protocols, is it not?
[13:49]  : Chase Quinnell: =/\= Bridge to Engineering, keep me informed =/\=
[13:49] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Yessir. Engineering out. =/\=
[13:50] Orion Pastorelli blinks, " you should see this, I am receiving ops reports? We have massive malfunctions in the mess hall, the replicators seem to be launching ... hot fudge sundays? at random crew members..."
[13:50] Diemme Morane checks the results of the helm diagnostic...... HOT darn !!! We can tow at Warp 5.7 now sir!!!!
[13:50] Vinnie Lei: ::Red alert gets pushed on as the ship rocks a little::
[13:50] Chase Quinnell: Hot fudge what?
[13:50] Orion Pastorelli: sundays sir, its an earth desert...
[13:51] Chase Quinnell: Oh yea..
[13:51] Diemme Morane has limited helm control sir...
[13:51] Diemme Morane: It feels like piloting a salvage barge
[13:51] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Engineering to bridge. We got a major fracture in the main plasmaconduits, repairteams on their way.
[13:51]  : Chase Quinnell: =/\= Quinnell to Lt. Vinnie, I need you to have someone check the replicators in the mess hall. They're spitting sundays at people.. =/\=
[13:51] Diemme Morane pounds at the console
[13:52] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Aye sir. I will assign Ensign Biteme on it. =/\=
[13:52] Orion Pastorelli purses his lips, "sir, if I didn't know beter I would say we have been sabotaged"
[13:52]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Acknowledged. =A=
[13:52] Diemme Morane: RESPOND YOU PIECE of maudite affaire de mal faite creee par une gang d'ostie.......
[13:52] Chase Quinnell: I sincerely doubt that, Orion.
[13:52] Diemme Morane goes on swearing in French
[13:52] Chase Quinnell: Starbase 427 has put a high level of security on their staff, especially engineers, after the last time.
[13:52] Orion Pastorelli: understood...
[13:53] Orion Pastorelli wonders how Diemme managed to bypass the universal translator.
[13:53] Diemme Morane is skilled
[13:53] Vinnie Lei: =/\= The chief believes they uploaded wrong software into the gelpack control systems and worked itself up to other systems in engineering. Like a non-aware virus, spreading slowly.
[13:54]  : Chase Quinnell: =/\= Any way to bypass it? =/\=
[13:55] Orion Pastorelli ponders Vinnie's conclutions, "aye, that sounds plausible, I will run a serial code check on our current software."
[13:55] Vinnie Lei: =/\= If we fly without the main computer, yes. For engineering at least.
[13:55]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Flying without the computer? That's not something I would like to do.. =A=
[13:56] Diemme Morane rests her head on the console.... massive migraine starting....
[13:56] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Me neither, captain. But by looks of things, we hardly got much choice. There's no time to rewrite all the software.
[13:56]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Acknowledged, Lt. =A=
[13:56] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Or replacing the gelpack with regular isolinear systems.
[13:56] Diemme Morane sighs...
[13:56] Chase Quinnell: Lets make it so.
[13:57]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Replacing those would take quite a while, though. =A=
[13:57] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Yes, it would. There's a second option though. Disable the main computer, and run on static backup only.
[13:57]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Make it so. =A=
[13:58] Diemme Morane's head snaps up...
[13:58] Diemme Morane: STATIC??
[13:58] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Aye sir. Estimate is roughly 15 minutes to complete the task.
[13:58] Diemme Morane groans....
[13:58] Diemme Morane prepares to get out and paddle
[13:58] Chase Quinnell: It's all we got, Diemme.
[13:59] Diemme Morane: I'm just glad we're still in the vicinity of the station, and not out on a 'creek' sir.
[13:59] Orion Pastorelli notices the flickering lights...
[14:00]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Engineering, are you doing something? Our lights are flickering. =A=
[14:00] Orion Pastorelli chuckles, "in another time and place, this would be funny..."
[14:00] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Yes, we are celebrating down here. *70's disco music in the background*
[14:01]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= *sighs* Hurry up already. =A=
[14:01] Diemme Morane hums "Boogie Wonderland" under her breath....
[14:01]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= We need to get to Pinastri soon. There are certain... 'ammentities' at stake here. =A=
[14:02] Orion Pastorelli: 'ammenities' sir?
[14:02] Chase Quinnell mutters something about a couple Lt. Commanders from Headquarters.
[14:02] Chase Quinnell looks up: Nothing.
[14:02] Diemme Morane raises an eyebrow...
[14:02] Chase Quinnell: It's nothing important.
[14:02] Orion Pastorelli: understood sir.
[14:02] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Captain, you got Warp 1.01 at your disposal, but increase speed slowly. The computer cannot compensate in static-mode.
[14:02] Diemme Morane mimes a pedalling action.
[14:02] Orion Pastorelli returns his attention to his chaotic consol.
[14:02] Chase Quinnell: Helm, engage warp 1.01 and increase speed at a fixed rate of .47 warp per 5 minutes.
[14:03] Diemme Morane: Understood sir.
[14:03] Diemme Morane: warp engaged...
[14:03]  ::ship begins to shake slightly::
[14:03] Diemme Morane: we're putt-putting along slowly...
[14:04] Diemme Morane increases speed by .47..... holding her breath...
[14:05] Orion Pastorelli wonders why he is receiving ops reports... Shrugs and reroutes them to Ops station.
[14:05] Diemme Morane looks at the Ops report.... er... it looks like a Saved Game of Doom....
[14:06] Diemme Morane reroutes it to Tactical
[14:06] Diemme Morane nudges another .47.....
[14:08] Diemme Morane pounds on the console some more... calling it a garbage scow
[14:09] Vinnie Lei: =/\= Engineering to bridge. Plasma conduits are patched up. Warp 6 is possible, but keep using the increase per intercal of .47
[14:10]  : Chase Quinnell: =A= Acknowledged. =A=
[14:10] Diemme Morane bumps her up another ,47
[14:10] Diemme Morane: Sir, ETA to Pinastri Station at Warp 6: 4 days
[14:12] Diemme Morane: Sir? did you read me?
[14:13] Diemme Morane: the helm is giving me false readings
[14:17] Chase Quinnell: Orion, you have the bridge. I will be in engineering.
[14:17] Diemme Morane settles back for a long trip... and tweaks up another .47
[14:17] Orion Pastorelli: aye sir
[14:17]  ::Chase takes the turbolift to Engineering::
[14:18] Diemme Morane: I wonder what they're doing down there...
[14:18] Vinnie Lei: Cap'n..
[14:18] Chase Quinnell: Report.
[14:19] Vinnie Lei: We got the plasma-conduits patched up, and the radiation in the systems down to 30%. But we need starbase equipment to purge the rest.
[14:19] Diemme Morane looks over at Orion.... and snorts...
[14:19] Chase Quinnell nods.
[14:20] Chase Quinnell: We'll have them repaired at.. Pinastri
[14:20] Orion Pastorelli fiddles with the control panel on the captains chair, "hmm seat-belt..."
[14:20]  ::Orion pushes a button and the seatbelts come over his shoulders::
[14:20] Chase Quinnell frowns.
[14:20] Vinnie Lei nods
[14:21] Chase Quinnell: I- umm... vinnie, can you do me a favor?
[14:21] Vinnie Lei: Yes?
[14:21] Chase Quinnell: Can you make sure that no-one besides the cadets and the engineers make it on-board once we arrive?
[14:22] Vinnie Lei: I will make sure of it, cap'n.
[14:22]  ::Orion attempts to locate the button to turn off the seatbelt..::
[14:22] Diemme Morane giggles at Orion's predicament.
[14:22] Chase Quinnell: Awesome. Thanks Vinnie.
[14:23] Vinnie Lei: No prob.
