In this training mission prior to the Sheppard's launch, the crew's search for the informant they were ordered to meet leads them to a planet called Alatair III.

Prelude

All missions are currently training missions. They occur in the holodeck until the Sheppard is launched.

Captain's log, Stardate: 100227

Today's mission will involve the USS Sheppard following the escort ships detected at the end of our last mission. Our previous mission located the informant's shuttle and downloaded a partial data set, and allowed us to locate a solar-powered communications station with what we think may be the data the informant wanted to hand over to Starfleet. However, most the data has been heavily encrypted and with the remaining information being damaged, little has been gained.

The only lead we have is that the sensor information from the shuttle we picked up suggests these escort ships where responsible for the attack and possibly took our informant with it.

I've ordered Engineering and Operations to continue decoding the information while the rest of the crew concentrates on following these escort ships. We may be able to locate the informant or gain other information of use to Starfleet.

Computer, end log.

Events

The Sheppard followed the two escort ships to a planet called Alatair III, where there were indications that the informant was being held captive on the surface. Two away teams were sent down in shuttles and found a civilization which, while being technologically advanced, built structures similar to the temples of ancient Earth Egypt and Greece. It seems that this civilization was also adept in creating traps which posed a danger to the away team. However, the informant was successfully recovered and beamed back to Sheppard.
