Having arrived at the binary star system indicated on one of the freighter Captain's star charts; an energy signature that seemed to be effecting the Iconian artefact was detected coming from one of the system's outer planets. An Away Team was beamed to the surface of the class-P planet, on which Yeti-like inhabitants were encountered. Remnants of wall paintings depicting ancient Egyptians were discovered in an ice cave shortly before the Away Team had to return to the USS Neil Armstrong due to the climatic conditions. It is planned to send another Away Team to the surface of the Ice planet and try to discover what is inside a particular cave that the Yeti-like locals do not want us to enter.

Log Entry: Commander Genny7 Markus, 140216: Before we began the second visit to the Ice planet we met in the Observation room behind the bridge to talk through how we would trade with the natives and with what. It was decided that we would ask Engineering to produce some necklaces and bracelets to give in return for their help and cooperation. I also asked for advice from Doctor Lane about how we could keep ourselves warm during the away mission, and he suggested we should take some flasks of warm drinks. Once we had received the trinkets and flasks we headed for the transporter room and beamed down. To our surprise there were no natives at all within the small villages, perhaps another celebration.
We spread out to search the area, and I headed towards the "God" cave when a shout came over my com badge from Cmdr Bravin that he had fallen through the ice. I hurried back towards the frozen pool and for the first time noticed a metal head sitting on the pool. I headed on to the ice and when I reached the head I too fell down. Three walls of hieroglyphs greeted me with Captain Quar already taking photos for us to study. I asked Cmdr Bravin to contact the Armstrong to see what the Iconian artefact was doing; a report came back from Lt. London that the artefact was glowing, so the Cmdr asked for it to be transported down to us.
Feeling the cold very badly I decided that the corridor leading away from the hieroglyphs was worth investigating and the walking would help me to keep warm. What I found was a statue and further back a picture of an Iconian gateway. Doctor Lane moved towards the picture and disappeared but we could still hear his voice and moments later he came back through the picture. We decided to place the part of the artefact on the statue, but it had no effect leading us to the conclusion that we would need to have the whole artefact. This would mean us returning to the asteroid belt and searching for the other parts of the artefact. With photos taken and as much information as we could get we returned to the warmth of the ship to plan our return to the asteroid belt.
