Prelude

Deep in the Gamma Quadrant, beyond the Chamra Vortex, lies a little known sector, the Astraios Star System. Here three small planets orbit a relatively young star. The huge asteroid belt of the Rhakar system stretches into this region. The furthermost planet, Astraios, is an Minshara-class planet, where UF Starfleet's Astraios Colony is being established. The Astraionians have kept mostly to themselves, a few traders travel to Rhakar for supplies. A resolute few undertake the trip to Deep Space Nine, thousands of light years away. The volatile toh-maire gas is contained in the nebula that occur in this region of space.

The newly commissioned Nova Class starship, USS Condor, with a small team of science and medical officers, begins a mission to chart the Vortex and scan the asteroid belt for minerals and deposits.

Crew participation

Poison Toocool - Mission commander

Soggy Bang - Ops/Helm

Ronin Calayan - Engeneering

Alia Soulstar - Science/Medical

Davido Herbit - Tactical/Security

Events

Scans revealed static occuring at regular intervals originating from an asteroid in the nearby vicinity. Science advised the signal could indicate sentience. Possibly a silicon based life form. Science and Ops sorted out how to talk to it. It seemed to think carbon units a disease, wished to communicate with the ship itself. It wanted more information about the ship. Tactical and Engineering both concerned about the possibility of danger to the ship and crew. I thought it wise to move away, take the data and inform Starfleet. The entity is about 10 minutes away from Astraios at low warp.

Supplementals

The entity is about 10 minutes away from Astraios at low warp. Suggest further investigation.
