Captain's log, stardate 121206.1935. As I stated in an earlier log, nothing about what we do is routine. After responding to a derelict ship, we established a data uplink to try and determine exactly why the ship was abandoned. It was at that point that problems began aboard the ship.
Engineering began expieriencing power failures which culminated in a loss of Ops and Helm control. Lieutenant Oaksi found what seemed to be a virus entering through the uplink, which we subsequently terminated. Once we cut primary power and went to secondary, there was what appeared to be an EPS overload at helm which struck Lieutenant Raymaker. He was immediatley transported to sickbay under the care of Doctors Jayaram and DeShaw. Once the Lieutenant was seen to, Lieutenant Oaksi discovered something broadcasting my comman codes from the ship.
After invalidating my command codes, we began trying to piece everything togeather when the ship began acting on its own. It self-programmed and ran a simulation on the holodeck which turned out to be a cybernetics labratory. It then replicated all the necessary components to build a fully functioning android and transported them to the holodeck. All evidence at this pointed indicated we were actually dealing with some sort of sentient being.
Lieutenant Raymaker and I made our way to the holodeck at the request of the new lifeform, which only wanted to study us and take on a more physical form. After having a brief conversation with the Lieutenant and myself, it decided we were not worth dealing with at this time, and departed the Talisman. All ships systems returned to normal, and Lieutenant Raymaker returned to duty with minor injuries. We have returned to Tranquility station and we will have all systems looked over before going out again. As for the lifeform, only time is going to determine if we will encounter it again.
