The Sheppard's bridge crew visits Roma again to investigate a downed shuttle and rescue a friend against her will
Location: Onboard the USS Angola, Midgar Sector, Roma System
Well, we finally found my missing Chief of Ops. I was really starting to get worried. This all started back in the last battle with the mercenaries; the commander was injured and received a head trauma of some kind. After a brief inspection by the medical team, she was not given a high priority due to the other pending casualties. After this, her whereabouts become confusing - some of the crew claim they saw her in various parts of the ship, one even mentioned that she called herself major, which was most definitely out of line with her current assignment. Discussions with medical staff have suggested that she could have some short term amnesia due to her head injury. This may have resulted in her thinking she was back in the Marines, carrying out a mission.
In any case, from partial records from the Sheppard and some eye witness reports, we have managed to ascertain that she got on a damaged shuttle during the Sheppard evacuation and then we lost her. It seems she must have found some way to hide herself from sensors, either in some of the wreckage that was floating about or in the Nykotos system somewhere.
I have convinced the captain of the Angola to divert his ship, and we have followed a faint ion trail of a shuttle to the Roma system. Scans of the M-class planet there suggest that there has been some sort of surface impact near one of the settlements. Energy readings suggest the shuttle is under the surface but due to the large quantities of paramagnetic stone the locals use in their construction, we can't effect an immediate beamout or get an exact fix. Due to our previous experience with the locals here, the captain of the Angola suggested that the Sheppard crew beam down, assess the situation and hopefully find out what happened to our Chief of Operations.
Computer, end log.
