500 years in the past, and just over 90 LY Rimward of Pinastri, the USS Shogun picks up some familiar signals leading to an encounter with a familiar foe.
Captain's Log - June 2, 1885 (100602)
Position: 92.52 LY Rimward of Pinastri
We continue relentlessly onward to Pinastri. Our last encounter left us shaken, but also invigorated. This is part of what deep space exploration is about, to seek out strange new worlds, civilizations and species... to boldly go where no one has gone before. We found the strange last time, but then space is incredibly big and we usually tend to. I often wonder how we would seem under the lense of the species we investigate and meet. Another day, another strange occurrence. We are receiving signals, again. This time they are being broadcast in several different languages. LTCMDR Heinkel has identified them so far as Earth Latin, Ancient Vulcan and Shogunite Japanese. While we must concede that this is very likely a trap, it is too interesting and strange to pass up. The speculation as to who could be sending out these signals out here in the Delta Quadrant. I can guess why they chose Ancient human languages, over fifty percent of the crew is human. However, the sheer probability along is so minute that it is hard to believe what is occurring. We are currently moving towards the vicinity of the signals.
While en-route back to Pinastri, the USS Shogun received another signal of unknown origin. The message was comprised of three different languages: Shogunite Japanese, and Latin from ancient earth, as well as ancient Vulcan. The origin of the signal was traced back to a class M planet.
Upon arrival at the planet, away teams were dispatched to the planet’s surface. The away team was greeted with the site of a Roman forum from ancient earth. The away team also discovered an ancient Japanese dwelling. At around this time the away team discovered that their Tricorders and Communications were disabled. Several crewmembers also reported suffering from mild headaches, experiencing euphoria, and becoming argumentative with other members of the away team.
The away team then discovered another series of chambers that appeared to be from there own time. The away team then encountered the snake man, a snake like creature from the future that has been a nemesis to the USS Shogun crew. The Snakeman then triggered a self-destruct function that destroyed much of the buildings and the away team evacuated back to the ship.
