Crew of the USS Sheppard:
With the refit underway and crew assignments still being filled we are not quite ready to depart the SS Peedy Thor. However, we can still work on our skills so when the Sheppard does leave, we are well prepared. Thus I have decided to bless you all with a ship readiness training scenario. We shall assemble in the conference room prior to the training. I'll give you details on the scenario. It might be a good idea to familiarize yourself not only with the tasked expected of your duty station but the tasks of the other duty stations as well. The academy class "Bridge Duty Stations" might be a good start. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Captain's Log, stardate 180524
We are unfortunately stuck at the SS Peedy Thor while refit of the Sheppard continues. We are still severely under staffed but that isn't an issue while the ship is laid up. I was able to assemble a group for a Ship Readiness Training. We started wit ha briefing in the conference room were I explained the upcoming training scenario. The Scenario: A plague has erupted on Kratos II. The virus is highly contagious and kills with in 4 hours of contracting it. The local government has requested Federation assistance. Panic has overtaken the population and martial law has been declared. There is heavy concern people may attempt to flee the planet. The USS Honeybee (Oberth Class) has arrived and is working on trying to assist with finding a cure or vaccine. We are to back them up. I began with a quick report from all stations.
We arrived at the system and scanned the area. The only ship detected was the USS Honeybee. As we patrolled the area we detected a shuttle trying to make for the planet. We were able to resolve the issue peacefully. A family returning from vacation was unaware of the quarantine. We sent them to the Honeybee for testing anyway. Shortly after, two freighters were attempting to flee the planet. They refused to cooperate. Both ships had weapons ready and shields up. I called for a red alert, had held position us in their path and locked onto the lead ship in an attempt to scare them. Unfortunately they attacked us. We returned fire using phaser only, hoping to disable them. We were successful in disabling both ships. We used the tractor beam to tow them to the Honeybee, as the crew's may be infected. At this point I decided to end the simulation and discuss what occurred. During our discussion we received an automated distress call from the USS Maxwell. Their location was the Hapke 5283 System. The message states the Maxwell was surrounded by ten hostile Karutak starships. With the Sheppard's Quantum Stasis drive, we could be there in four hours but the Sheppard is hardly in peak condition. We are still in pieces, missing a full crew and don't have keep officers. I called in the beta shift as there was much to do if we were going to be ready to leave space dock. I needed to go aboard the Peedy Thor, there were lots of people I needed to find. I don't know who or what the KArutak are, but were will soon find out.

We diverted a shuttle to the Honeybee and stopped two freighters from leaving the planet.
- Science - Ensign Emerald Lombardia
We receive word that a plague has taken over on Kratos II. Our job is to back up the Honey Bee, which is working on finding a cure for the virus. After arrival we intercept a small shuttle craft trying to leave, we divert them to the Honey Bee, since we do not know if they people on board are infected or not. Shortly, we detect two ships, who do not heed the warning sent out. We engage with the ships. After a brief battle, we disable the ships and tow them to the Honey Bee.

We arrived just in the nick of time. A shuttle with a family aboard was returning to the planet after a holiday. We were able to intercept and send them on to be assessed by the Honeybee. Two merchant ships then tried to leave the planet. We attempted to stop them, but they resisted and fired upon us. They were outmatched but we did not want to lose control of either vessel. We used phasers to warn them and then attempted to take out their engines. In the end we were able to stop them and took them via tractor beam to Honeybee.
We were debriefing the simulation when a real comms signal came through. After some clean up, I reported receiving a faint and garbled automated distress call from the USS Maxwell. Location: Hapke 5283 System. Surrounded by ten hostile Karutak starships.
The Captain immediately asked for a ship's status report and asked me to put together a list of our current crew compliment and a list to recall anyone we can, and also to contact SS Peedy Thor to 'borrow' officers and even cadets if needed to make a full compliment.
It appears we will be getting underway in a few hours.

Stardate; 180524 Ships Status, Condition and Readiness Report to CO; Begin Log Entry
Indock or Docking Operations are complete or on schedule. The Hard Dock retaining clamps are inplace and holding properly. The Auxiliary Power Umbilicus from the Station are operational.
The Main Reactor is online and operating at 1/4 power with the Flow Suppressors set at 14%.However, the Injection Stream Valves are on stand-by lockdown. Ion Flux Stabilizer Manifold has been replaced. The Matter/Anti-Matter Reaction Chamber has been purged and is on Stand-by.
The structural refits and refurbishments are complete. They have been inspected and are certified. The Buffer Seals on the Warp Reactor have been replaced. The Power Conduit dampers in both nacelles have been replaced. The baffles for the Warp Field Generator has been purged and several were replaced.
The non-essential units shipwide have been set to stand-by mode. The refurnishing and renovations of the un-occupied and crew requested crews quarters is almost complete. All the personal replicator units in the crew area's and quarters have also been upgraded. The LCARS upgrade is still loading but should be complete in just under 18 hours. The Main Computer is fully operational.

At this time we began a In Dock Training Drill:

Panic has overtaken the population and martial law has been declared. There is heavy concern people may attempt to flee the planet. The USS Honeybee (Oberth Class) has arrived and is working on trying to assist with finding a cure or vaccine. We are to proceed at Warp 8 to back them up.
We arrived in the vicinity and achieved high orbit under 1/2 impulse power. Contact with the USS Honeybee was established. At this time we detected a small shuttle craft inbound to the planet. Contact was made and ascertained it was a private craft with a family returning from vacation. They were informed of the planetary conditions and quarantine. They unhappily proceeded to the USS Honeybee for processing. Moments later scanners detected 2 mid-sized merchant vessels attempting to leave the planet. They were warned off the attempt, but continued on course. Red Alert was called and Battle Stations achieved. Communications were established and they informed the CO they were ""blaming the government"" and were not going to give up their attempt to escape. Repeated attempts were given as they assumed an attack posture. A warning shot was fired across their bow yet they continued to press the attack, firing phasers. The Sheppard received a single low base phaser hit on the #3 shield with no damage taken. Their engines were targeted, damaged and they were stopped in space.The USS Honeybee was informed of situation and we took them in tractor beam tow in-route to the USS Honeybee.

The crew then discussed a critique of the mission and several points were taken up. The Mission Simulation was informative and generally well accepted with notes for improvement by all crew members.
The CO then ascertained of me the time needed to release from dock and get the Sheppard under way in an emergency. I gave him the following report.
Emergency Reactivation times scales:
- Secondary Reactors 100% = 6 minutes
All systems online or in progress and operational for Emergency Dock Release = 11 minutes. Impluse Power = 12 minutes. Weapons 100% = 22 minutes Impulse Drive Engines @ 1/2 power = 19 minutes, Full Power = 38 minutes Emergency Warp Field Restart completion = 40 minutes Warp Drive capacity @ 50% = 44 minutes, 100% = 67 minutes All ships systems and power available for Warp Maneuvers = 77 minutes (concurrent to LCARS upgrade loading completion)
