The Sheppard crew investigates a planet which they suspect might be a hub for smuggling stolen Federation weapons.

Prelude

First Officer's log, Stardate 110702 Location: Midgar sector, near Mos Eisley system, parsec 78

The Sheppard has changed its course slightly to pay a visit to the Mos Eisley system in the Midgar sector. The reason for this visit is that we received some intel information that this planet in the same-named system might be a base for smuggling Federation weapons.

If this information is true, it might help us bring some more light in the matter of the killed archeologists since their wounds showed Federation weapon signatures.

This system has already been part of an investigation by Project Magellan on Stardate 071020.

The report stated that this planet seems to be a base of pirate and smuggler activity and a linchpin of more or less illegal merchant activities. Therefore, we have to be very cautious and the teams that are to be beamed down on the planet have to be in disguise in order to make sure that we are not identified as Starfleet officers.

Our first task will be to find out whether the information is true. If it is, we should try to work out where the Federation weapons came from and confiscate them to stop their further distribution.

Events

Once in orbit of the planet Skylar, the Sheppard beamed down two away teams, the first of which managed to hack into the local government's computers and found some reference to some trading for phasers and an individual named Black Jack, known for his black storm trooper gear. Proceeding to a smugglers' base, Team 1 found a cache with some Federation signatures.

Meanwhile, Team 2 - and especially civilian advisor Lady Byrna made some enquiries and found a Jawa trader outside the trader who had some equipment from the lost USS Denmark. Lady Byrna was able to acquire some information on a nearby residence, where Team located pieces of a crate for Federation Type-II Hand Phasers. Team 2 Team Two also stumbled upon a crashed LN-Class Starfighter. Among the wreckage was a munitions crate heavily contaminated with some sort of biological weapon, which Lieutenant j.g. Rich Lombardia was exposed to. As he required first aid and the locals had now spotted the Sheppard crew and grown suspicious regarding their activities, the away teams called for an emergency beamout and were transported back to the ship, along with the recovered weaponry.
