After defending the USS Voyager against a Hirogen attack, the Sheppard gets sucked into another anomaly - and travels another 50 years into the past.
Captain's log, Stardate 110911
Alert Status: yellow
The Sheppard has managed to find the edge of this nebula, however information gained from our investigations and science analysis in astrometrics suggests we have been transported 11 years into the past. What's more, we have detected another Intrepid-class ship, the USS Voyager. As we have located no reference to the Sheppard in the Voyager logs or any kind of time event around what we think is the current Stardate, I think we can safely assume that we managed to evade contaminating the timeline. Voyager itself appears to be damaged and limping along at impulse. I have ordered the Sheppard into full silent running - hopefully we will be able to avoid detection.
In the meantime, Science is working on several theories as to how to get ourselves back to our own timeline, the most obvious one being to recreate the the events that lead to our time event in the first place - though of course without fully understanding how we got here may make this route dangerous.
Computer, end log.
While the Sheppard, concealed within the nebula, observed the severely-damaged Voyager, two Hirogen vessels appeared on sensors headed straight for Captain Janeway's ship. Voyager headed for the nebula and sent out a distress call, sparking a debate on Sheppard's bridge as to what to do. Some, namely Lt. Commander Jess Hamelin and Ops officer Teresa Tyler argued in favor of intervening, while others, including Lt. Commander April Coswell and Executive Officer Kaelin Odriscoll, felt quite strongly that Sheppard's intervention would represent an unacceptable risk to the timeline. In the end, Captain Dwi decided to intervene to defend Voyager and assured Commanders Coswell and Odriscoll that their objections would be officially noted.
Voyager, according to its own logs, was to experience a sensor blackout in a matter of minutes. This proved an ideal circumstance in which to intervene; the crew altered the ship's signature to mimic the damage to Voyager and draw the Hirogens to the Sheppard instead. While the ship took some damage, it did manage to eliminate the Hirogen vessels before Voyager's sensors came back online.
Shortly after this, unbeknownst to the crew, Commander Coswell slipped into the same secondary state that herself and other senior officers had experienced prior to Sheppard being transported 11 years into the past. While in this state, she once again reprogrammed the deflector to generate a chroniton anomaly. Although the bridge crew applied reverse propulsion to prevent the ship being sucked into the anomaly, someone in Engineering - presumably in a similar secondary state - fired up the impulse engines. Sheppard entered the anomaly and emerged near a star system. Science Ensign Araulya Coronet reported that the ship had travelled to the Midgar sector and made another fifty-year jump into the past.
