While recovering from experimentation at the hands of a strange species, the Sheppard crew ambushes an alien drone ship to get answers.
Position : In orbit
We have recovered the crew from the depths of the mysterious lab on the planet. The USS Sheppard is currently licking its wounds and mending systems as it tries to find out who and what has attacked us.
Currently the ship is in orbit and our objectives for today are twofold:
- Recover what we can from the underwater labs that the crew members were held and experimented in;
- Await the arrival of enemy re-enforcements who have been alerted by our rescue attempts so we can find out who and what they know about the dissappearance of the USS Denmark.
Computer, end log.
Shortly after escaping from the underwater facility where several of the crew were experimented on, and with Captain Dwi and Executive Officer Blaisdale still in sickbay, the Sheppard – under the command of Lt. Otheno Floresby – made its way back to the planet where the facility was located. An away team was sent down to the labs and was able to scan the machine which had been used to inject metal into some of the crew, collect a sample of the metal and retrieve some logs from the machine.
When the away team beamed back to Sheppard, medical officer Lan Nakajima had made headway in treating the Captain and Commander Blaisdale, who were able to return to duty – in time to devise an ambush plan regarding two incoming drone ships which had been spotted on long-range sensors.
The Sheppard hit behind an asteroid until it was in a position to disable one of the two ships, while Lieutenant Generaal Joubert led the other drone into a nearby nebula and disabled its weapons there. An away team was sent to the first disabled drone ship in search of information on the USS Denmark, but a self-defense subroutine onboard deleted most of the information. In addition, Lieutenant Commander Pema Nakamura suffered an EVA suit breach and, as a result, toxic gas poisoning.
