While recovering pieces of the USS Redeemer, the Sheppard entertains a strange visitor from a Federation-built vessel.
Captain's log, Stardate 100703.
Command has quite rightly informed me that I cannot take the Sheppard and go running off after the Shogun, though I dearly want to - I have a lot of friends onboard that ship and not being able to do anything to help them is just well... *pauses* frustrating to say the least.
So I'm going to do what I can do: I'm going to find all the information I can on these dissipating chroniton emissions and some of the anomalies that appear to have cropped up around them. Maybe command can make something of them. Unfortunately, we have also detected several smaller ships heading in our direction; sensors show them to be a mixture of ships and technologies, none of them overtly pose a threat to the Sheppard but I am concerned about their intentions. Worst comes to worst, I'll destroy the remnants of the Redeemer and continue our search for the crew of the USS Denmark.
Computer, end log.
Under the command of Lieutenant Generaal Joubert, the Sheppard, after salvaging some parts of the Redeemer's hull, headed for the nearby debris field to ensure that no Federation technology fell into alien hands. There, several ships were detected heading for the debris field, and Sheppard sent out a hail asking them to identify themselves. One of them, a Federation-built Ju'Day-class vessel, opened fire on the other ships, causing them to back off. After some talking, the Ju'Day vessel's occupant, one Lady Byrna, agreed to come onboard Sheppard. Upon meeting with Lt. Joubert, she voiced surprise at finding a Federation ship - the Redeemer - in this section of space, claimed to have no knowledge of the disappearance of the USS Denmark, and spoke about an employer who was not to happy with Federation ships snooping around this sector of space. Before returning to her ship, Lady Byrna did agree to an exchange of scan data of the sector.
While this was happening, scans were conducted on the hull fragments collected from the Redeemer. Some pieces showed signs of close-quarter phaser blasts, indicating that there had been some close combat going on on the Redeemer. Furthermore, blood found on the remains of the ship turned out to be from a USS Denmark crew member.
