Senior Staff

The USS Ferasa was constructed and launched from Utopia Planitia Shipyards in 2366, following the First contact with the Borg Collective in 2365. Starfleet felt, after practice and training in preporation for Borg attacks, that a larger quantity of heavily-armed battlecruisers were a necessity in their arsenal.

Following the attack of Jouret IV by the Borg, which annihilated the New Providence colony, the USS Ferasa was tasked to intercept the Borg threat, accompanied by her sister ship, USS Leopard and the destroyer USS Argus. Upon reaching Jouret IV, having arrived too late to intercept the Borg threat, the USS Ferasa Rendezvous with the USS Enterprise-D, who report their Captain, Jean-Luc Picard was abducted and assimilated.

Having concluded there was little more they could do on their current misison, the USS Ferassa set a course back to Earth, however, were redirected to Wolf 359 at the turn of the year 2367. Arriving at Wolf 359, the USS Ferasa joined 40 other Federation ships under the command of Admiral Hanson, in an engagement to prevent the Borg from reaching Earth. During the engagement, the Federation lost 39 starships and 11,000 lives to the Borg Attacks. The USS Ferasa was severely damaged, and was granted authorisation to break off combat and retreat to the nearest Federation shipyard for repair, after Admiral Hanson deemed the Ferasa "Too damaged to continue the fight".

Limping back to the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, the USS Ferasa, having lost 327 members of her crew, underwent extensive repairs; the yard engineers almost having to rebuild the ship from scratch. Following nearly six months of repair work, the USS Ferasa was placed on a lighter mission than she was used to; being tasked to patrol the borders of Federation Space. Continuing this mission for nearly twenty years, the Ferasa witnessed a change of CO twice before she was recalled for a new assignment.

By the beginning of 2381, the USS Ferasa recieved command orders to progress with the initial fleet through the Khittomer Wormhole to Pinastri, where she was to join the fleet of the UFS.
