In the middle of a supernova, a lone planet survives, seemingly held together by a strange power source...

Prelude

Ship's log, stardate 100918.

Ship Status: Exploring the Aksum sytem on our way to the Midgar Sector

Lt. Odriscoll and his stellar cartography team found out that there is a planet near this system in a nebula that seems to have survived a supernova.

Stellar Cartography shows that this system is very old, as well as the remains of the supernova that forms this Nebula. The strange thing is that this planet, although not very interesting at first sight, does seem to be from a time before the supernova tore this system apart and. It remained a single stray planet amongst the remains of his sisters, brothers and the exploded star.

The planet itself is an L-Class planet, but we do not know if this is a result due to the supernova, which could have altered the nature of the planet, or if this planet always has been an L-Class. What we do know is that what is left of the water on this planet resides in deep pocket-reservoirs under the surface.

There has been no sign of any life on this planet. Not now, nor at any time in the past centuries. Yet we do find traces of a faint energy source that is present in some old structure in the middle of the equatorial desert at the very edge of what seems to be the largest desert this planet has to offer.

Our job will to gather data on this planet, its past inhabitants and retrieve, if at all possible, the powersource. Our primary job, however, will be finding out why this planet, and this planet alone, survived this cataclysmic event, the supernova.
