With both Lei and Lan back on Athena, the next task becomes interrogating the Cheronian scientist in hopes of discovering her motives.

Prelude

Captain's log, stardate 110213:

Both Lan and Lei have taken the last couple of days in order to recoup and have settled back into their work routines. After consulting with them briefly, I believe that the time has come to interrogate our new guest.

Victoria and Lei have determined that she is of a race called the Cheronian, thought long extinct. We do not know many details of this race, though we do know that they were in possession of advanced technology.

Fortunately, Victoria has a couple leads on disabling the scientist's energy shielding, determining it is a function of her body. Once this has been dealt with, we will see what answers we can get from her.

Computer, end log.

Events

With the crew briefed in Ops, giving them an update on what we've learned of the Cheronian's, we made way for Security, where we met the scientist, whose name she revealed to be Faldo Tilher, in the brig.

Victoria performed a final set of scans on Faldo and discussed with me that she felt that by temporarily slowing the function of Faldo's hippocampus, she would be able to hinder or disable her energy field creation, which originates from this portion of her brain. I advised her to synthesize a suitable medication and to administer it, so long as the scientist was monitored closely to observe her reaction to it. She departed with Braxx and both returned shortly with the medication, which Michel then introduced to the environmental systems in the brig. Within a couple minutes, Faldo started showing signs of disorientation, which Victoria indicated was an expected side effect. After giving the medication sufficient time to work, the forcefields surrounding the brig were lowered and we approached Faldo and then escorted her to a secure area of sickbay.

With Faldo under the supervision of Victoria, it was soon determined that the Cheronian was not herself, apparent suffering from delusions and voices in her head. Victoria administered medication by hypospray to alleviate this, but it was determined that she would remain under surveillance until it took affect. During preliminary scans, now without a forcefield hampering them, Victoria identified some sort of organ near her hippocampus, and she has scheduled further exploration of this.
