Lost information and a weakened fleet, in the days following the attack, what will this mean for the future of UFS?

Prelude

In the days following this attack, the question we all must ask is where to go next. We've lost information, of what nature or sort, I am as of yet unsure. The stations are being repaired as well as any ships damaged in the skirmish. However due to a shortage of ships within the area, and a need to protect our boarders, the 3rd Fleet is patrolling the immediate area. In addition, we've sent the 4th Fleet out to pursue the remnants of the Alien Flotilla.

It's our hope we can stop and recover the information, but perhaps it will not be so. Either way, we must try. With much of our Fleet weakened, it is good that we're expecting in the near future replacements to come from the Alpha Quadrant. What this latest attack shows is that despite our belief of superiority, we are vulnerable. It was at times like they were toying with us. Well now we must prepare for the inevitable.

Events

The attack was brutal and in the aftermath all we could do was glance around in amazement. With the attacks of the Alien's in the Red Sun Rising Campaign our Fleets were left in tatters, valuable information was stolen and untold chaos was wrought. What did they want? Why seize our information? Unfortunately that was a question to which no answer could be had.

All Branches were needed to pull together, to work together in order to come back from the chaos. We had so many questions as the Flotilla approached and yet as they shredded through our defenses and grabbed the information I was sure this was our darkest hour, that this could bring about our demise. Yet they left, with no further word. Who would leave in that sort of situation? Who would give up a sure victory? One that could bring us to our knees?

That is an answer we'll never know I fear. In fact it still vexes. Days bleed together as repairs are made. The 1st Fleet was largely decimated and all ships were in need of repairs. The 3rd and 4th Fleets were in best shape ordered to border patrol and pursuit respectively. The 2nd Fleet also was relatively unscathed however all ships were still ordered in for a once over.

Intelligence was given a special job, to continue to analyze and question the captured Mercenaries. Work with science to compile a species sketch and analysis for further usage. Speculate on future going ons as well as any other issues. We needed to know who we were dealing with, why they attacked, and most importantly what information they found out. Information which I fear will come to haunt us in the coming days...

Academy: Good work during the attack. Talk with Cadets and assist around SS Alexandria with any minor fixes that need to be done. Continue drills so that casualties may be lowered in the event any future incursions occur.

Engineering: Start the repair process. While Stations Tranquility, Athena, and Alexandria did take quite a beating, our first objective is to get the Fleet back up and operational as soon as we are able. In this way we will be able to patrol the borders. Report results as we receive them.

Intelligence: Continue to analyze and question the captured Mercenaries. Work with science to compile a species sketch and analysis for further usage. Speculate on future going ons as well as any other issues.

Marines: Excellent work aboard SS Athena. You held the station and this showed us one thing, that more training is definitely needed. Thus continue training and team building exercises. Remember you are a team and to work like one.

Medical: Continue caring for the injured or wounded. Talk to those who survived and provide help where needed. You are to be commended on your experimental holographic technology. Continue to review and repair for future similar situations.

Operations: Attempt to sift through communication records taken during the fight from the Flotilla. Decipher its meaning as well as the recipient of the message sent out.

Science: Scan recovered wreckage located at SS Cascadia. Ready and prepare a biological sketch along with medical and intelligence.

Security: Step up patrols on all stations. Have senior security personnel begin drills for their stations, known only to that stations Commanding officer. This will thus enable better crew response times to be judged in the likelihood of an emergency.

SFC: Patrol space in and around SS Athena and Cascadia. Take readings on differences and report them if findings are favorable.

1st: All ships in need of repair report in to Shipyards if not in need of repair, form into a defensive strategy around the Pinastri system. Report in findings to LtCmdr Kinney Randt for further filling and reporting.

2nd: Head immediately to Shipyards and await further instructions. Report in with numbers and casualties to LtCmdr Nabuleone Rhode

3rd: Continue to patrol border closest to incoming trajectory of the Flotilla.

4th: Fleets: Continue to pursue ships. Report in on any interesting findings as soon as they are discovered.

Re: 4th fleet Status report

Commander, the following fourth fleet ships have been dispatched to follow and perform a search pattern along the last known tragectories of the 3 ships that escaped.

USS Denmark USS Edinburgh USS Foil

Unfortunatly the sheppard was not able to join them due to damage to our warp core, neither will the USS Luranza or USS York who are awaiting repairs at the shipyard.

As soon as repairs are complete the sheppard will join the fleet in the search for the remnants of the flotilla.

Re: Cascadia Station Status report

The wreckage retrieved and examined by our engineering crews determined that the chemical make-up of the invader's ships is not of known types, having trace elements in the make-up of the hulls of the ships that preclude that, and what organic traces we could find appeared to be of an unknown type, though in chemical composition consistent with M-Class planetary lifeforms of humanoid shape and size. I am certain medical and engineering will have full reports for you shortly.

However, a secondary piece of hull plating was found that appeared to be of a different composition. It is the express opinion of our bridge engineer that the material was not made on the same planet as the other samples, and appeared to represent a different level of technology.

The material of the hull also showed clear microscopic signs of scoring from the same radiation fields found in Dominion and Klingon ships. Commander, the odd piece of hull came from a cloaked ship.

SUB: 4th fleet report

CMDR below is a list situation reports from the captains sent out from the 4th fleet to engage and persue enemy vessels.

USS Foil reports to have discovered no sign of the enemy along their search pattern and are returning to pinastri.

USS Edinburgh reports no sign of the enemy vessels however through contact with several merchant ships they have discovered that several civilian ships have been attacked recently by pirates and suggest we issue a fleet wide warning to all civilian and starfleet ships to be on alert. The Edinburgh is also returning to pinastri.

USS Denmark reports some readings that may be linked with the enemy vessels possibly heading in the direction of the midgar sector, they are following up on the readings and will remain in regular contact.

From Lt Cmdr Kermie Mistwallow, UFSA Vice-Commandant

Greetings Commander

As the fleet continues to repair damage to effected ships and stations, I would like to take this opportunity to offer the Academy's assistance. All Cadets are at your disposal to assist where needed, Deployment protocols are now in effect and if any station or ship requires additional personal for their missions please don't hesitate to contact myself or my cadet training officer Lt Madadh Magic.

I ask that we be kept informed of any cadet activity due to the nature of these repair and retrieve missions. If i know where cadets are then I do not have to worry when I walk the corridoors and see none around. Please submit any request for cadets via subspace channels.

In addition UFS Academy continues to perform drills and are assisting Alexandria Station with repairs and investigating anomolies within the system on board the station. I will keep you informed of any progress and any information we find.

Starfighter Command Reports

To: CMDR Mulgrave Dwi, CO USS Sheppard SFC Captain Slarus Rajal

Re: Merchant Ships

Understood Commander, good work. As pertains to the Merchant ships that have been attacked recently the alert level will be raised. In addition you have orders to during launch tow as far along your course as you are able a small group of SFC Fighters. After getting into the general vicinity where attacks occurred, you will leave and continue on course..

Captain Rajal you are ordered to assemble a squad of SFC pilots up for this task. Report in as able and be sure to let Command know how interactions with the attackers are going. Attempt to get information if possible and protect further ships from being victimized. The USS Freedom will be ready to liaise with you once you send a preset signal signifying completion or abandonment of mission.

Good luck to all, LtCmdr Triellis, Out.
