United Federation Starfleet Mission Report USS Protector Stardate: 130127

Current Location: Unknown

Commanding Officer's Log, Stardate 130127,

As we kept going inside the unknown galaxy we encountered a space station, long time abandoned, and covered in rust. We Beamed aboard and the systems powered themselves, all the lights were turned on, it seemed like the station woke up from a long sleep. We searched the Station for more clues of it's builders and it's purposes. We entered a control room which had 2 control panels, we turned them on and saw on the screen strange language and symbols that we couldn't understand even with our universal translator. By luck, Commander Zeppitay was able to roughly translate them due to her race's abilities, and embed the language in our universal translator: thus allowing us to use the computers. I managed to turn on an holographic display which showed us the path of a starship, coming back to Earth after a very long journey, which lasted millions of years. The ship was nowhere near to make it soon as it was still millions of lightyears away and traveled through a rudimentary FTL engine. Going through the station's database made us discover that we were in the Kaliem Galaxy, on the other side of the known universe. We also learned that the station was some sort of astrometrics relay for the builder's race ships. In order to be able to retrieve the information of the database and transfer it to the ship, we needed to open a data transfer link... Which was impossible because the Station was running very low on power due to 2 of it's 4 power capacitors being disabled.
