Biography
Hal grew up on a farm on planet Earth, spent his early life in the salt-water Navy, and later became a police officer in the city of Phoenix. Wounded by a phaser blast from a Bajoran religious fanatic, he resigned from the police force on the same day that he realized he was developing a racial hatred of Bajorans. He enlisted in Starfleet and was assigned to the starship USS Agincourt. While exploring a new planet during an away mission, he was bitten by a venemous reptile. With his condition nearing death, the ship's doctors used an experimental Fabrini medical treatment which saved his life. The deadly toxins remain in his system, in equilibrium with the Fabrini serum that keeps them in check. As a result, Hal's aging process has also reached equilibrium, so that his apparent age is frozen at 39.
