Biography
Born on Retel during the Klingon evacuation following the Dominion War. Parents were unknown because he was removed from his home and placed in a state-sponsored Retellian Betterment School. Hired on as a freighter pilot in 2396 and after 5 years became a merchant owner/operator. In 2416 Kem approached Starbase 152 in order to make repairs on his ship. Seeing the technology available to the Federation, he quickly made plans to sell his freighter and joined Starfleet. Once he graduated from the Academy, he went into the Operations branch because of his experience in piloting and ship-board engineering. After a short while it became evident that his real interest was rooted in Intelligence. The political vacuum left behind when the Klingons moved their bases to Maranga intrigued Kem. There was a time of utter chaos and anarchy on Retel that lasted for about 5 years until the Retellian military established a confederacy. During this time, he put a great deal of effort into identifying and analyzing the effects of black market cartels. He did this on his own and was not employed by any Retellian intelligence outfit. serrec = Graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2416 within a week after joining. Was attached to SS Astraios as an Operations Officer, and after entering the ADP program, decided he wanted to focus on Intelligence. He was transferred within a week.
