United Federation Starfleet Mission Report USS Protector Stardate: 130120

Current Location: Unknown

Commanding Officer's Log, Stardate 130120,

The Protector was running very low on dilithium and was not able to go to warp anymore. Upon exiting the nebula, we detected in close range a planet almost entirely covered with water containing large amounts of dilithium on the external crust. We entered the planet's orbit and did a precise scan to track the closest Dilithium ores from our location. Unfortunately there was also large amounts of Kelbonite under the planet's crust preventing us from using the transporters so we headed to the planet in a shuttle. We landed on a very small island having beautiful vegetation. We climbed to a cave which contained the dilithium ores. We collected some before returning to the shuttle... But the planet, being very close to another planet and having 2 moons had very strong tides and the shuttle was underwater. Me and Commander Zeppitay dived into the water in order to retrieve the shuttle. We managed to open it and land on top of the cave. As the water was charged in dilithium radiation, a characteristic very particular to the one found here apparently, I passed out quickly after landing because of the radiations. We went back to the ship and were all sent to sickbay for decontamination, shortly after, engineering teams started the replacement of dilithium in the core.
