Description

The commanding officer of a Wing under the Air Group division of the Starfighter Command branch. The Wing Commander is responsible for all personnel assigned to their Wing, providing activities, missions and regular training for personnel assigned to their Wing and ensuring that all personnel assigned to their Wing are active and regularly participating. In the event that it is reported that a Pilot is not regularly participating, the Wing Commander is responsible for finding the reason(s) why, and providing a solution which benefits all involved parties. During Combat, the Wing Commander is responsible for co-ordination of all pilots in the air from either the ground or the air themselves. In addition, the Wing Commander performs the duties of a Senior Pilot where possible. The Wing Commander is also a point of contact between all pilots assigned to their Wing and other SFC personnel.

Duties

• Ensure all pilots assigned to the Wing are active and participating in the Wing’s activities. If they are not, the Wing Commander is also responsible for finding out why they are not and finding a solution which is beneficial to all involved parties.
• Provide activities, missions and training for all personnel assigned to the Wing. If a mission is assigned to the Wing by a superior officer, the Wing Commander is responsible for carrying out that mission.
• Co-ordination of the Wing during combat situations. This may involve delegation of who is responsible for co-ordination of the Wing, co-ordinating the pilots within the Wing from the deployment base or in the air.
• Serve as a point of contact between Wing personnel and other SFC personnel.
• Serve in a combat capacity as a deployed member of the Air Group division.
• Perform combat patrols of your deployed ship or station when required.
• Participate in missions as assigned to your Wing, or members of your Wing.
• Regularly participate in further training in the form of Air Group drills, SFC tournaments and any other drill held by the SFC.
• Other duties, as assigned by the Commander, Air Group or Vice Commander, Air Group.
