USS Shogun visited this planet on stardate 100228. Ships records tell of the following: The surface seems to be made of basalt, plenty of cold, hard lava, with evidence of some large amygdaloidal rocks nearby. As we commenced our sweep, we came across a device,unlike anything I had seen before. It was shaped almost like a Cardassian arch, but was glowing. It was at the front of some caves, which we cautiously entered. As we explored, we saw more odd devices in the ground, before we came to what can only be described as a hub of some sort.
Field research proved, that planetary bedrock was covered in dense regolith, without organic particles. A number of anomalies though, were present, such as irregular gullies and number of clearly artificial metal structures.
The planet itself showed all the signs of a dead world. It was a proto-terrestrial planet that stopped evolving a few billion years ago. There was a fairly thick atmosphere with a high concentration of ammonia. There was a relatively high magnetic field, suggesting a denser inner core, that interfered with detailed scans on the microbial level. Atmospheric pressure was ten to the fourth dynes per square centimetre and radiation was well within accepted margins. The atmosphere was fairly humid, though any water on the surface was frozen in the form of permafrost. Mean temperature was -32C at the equator, -123C at the arctic poles. Surface compositions was largely basalt with formations from prehistoric lava flow, including channels and lava tubes.
