The Kazon have stolen Federation technology, the Redeemer must recover it ASAP

The Kazon faction, Kovati, made a raid on the Federation Convoy in the Kilnamis system. They managed to seize control of two Excelsior class vessels. They have access to Federation data, including blueprints on many Federation starships currently in use. Unfortunatly, the Federation is being blamed for recent strikes on nearby systems, because obviously the Kazon have been using their new toys.

We have reports that the Kazon are constructing a Defiant class vessel. It is nearly finished and is undergoing final preparations for launch. It is up to the Redeemer to destroy the Defiant class vessel and to either try to re-claim the two Excelsior class vessels, or destroy them. Their base of operations is in the Ruulak system and is under heavy guard. You may need to call in for some assistance. The USS Lassen [Defiant class], commanded by Lt. [Jg] Sam Christiansen and the USS Harrisburg [Nova class] , under the command of Captain N'eval have been assigned to assist the Redeemer in this mission.

Mission Logs

[12:24] Chase Quinnell: Well, look who's back everyone?
[12:24] Orion Pastorelli: Lt. Beaumont, welcome back *grins*
[12:24] Silkie Dagger: Hello Ma'am!
[12:24] Blush Babii: greetings Ma'am
[12:24] Reina Beaumont: I was ordered to report here, seems your Tactical Officer is still on leave, the Admiral felt I was the only exprienced officer available
[12:24] Chase Quinnell nods.
[12:24] Chase Quinnell: Indeed
[12:25] Reina Beaumont: and the Majestic is still in dock, she took a lot of damage
[12:25] Reina Beaumont: and besides, two years of teaching cadets and getting regressed by the Imperium has been a pain, the research on their virus is going well
[12:25] Chase Quinnell nods
[12:26] Silkie Dagger: Sir.. UF Starfleet Command is hailing us.
[12:26] Reina Beaumont: okay, so fill me in on what I'm needed for
[12:26] Chase Quinnell: Aye, put it on screen
[12:26] Silkie Dagger: Onsceen
[12:26] Chase Quinnell: ::Admiral Ashbourne comes into view, wearing a troubled face::
[12:26] Orion Pastorelli looks up at Reina, "been following that research, they are doing good work"
[12:26] Admiral Ashbourne :=A= Hello, Lt. =A=
[12:26] Chase Quinnell: Admiral.
[12:27] Orion Pastorelli snaps his attention to the vewscreen.
[12:27] Admiral Ashbourne :=A= It seems the Kazon have been stirring up trouble yet again. They have stolen a couple Excelsior class vessels and are using them to cause chaos. We've recieved many reports of aggressive Federation ships attacking and raiding colonies and worlds.
[12:28] Admiral Ashbourne :=A= Needless to say, people believe we are the ones behind it all. As we don't have much of a relationship here yet, we need to get those ships back pronto =A=
[12:29] Chase Quinnell: Doesn't sound so hard..
[12:29] Admiral Ashbourne : =A= There's more. They have gained access to some of our database, including schematics of the Defiant =A=
[12:30] Orion Pastorelli mumbles under htis breath, " I knew there was a catch..."
[12:30] Reina Beaumont: if I may?
[12:30] Admiral Ashbourne :=A= Intelligence reports they are constructing a defiant class vessel with superior strength. You must find it and neutralize it along with reclaiming those ships.
[12:30] Chase Quinnell nods at Reina
[12:31] Reina Beaumont: Admiral, we should be able to deal with them, I've memorised everything on our ships in the fleet, I know all the strengths and weaknesses, shouldn't be a problem. The Kazon aren't fully used to our technology, Admiral's Janeway's reports were clear on that
[12:31] Chase Quinnell: Reina is right, we do have the upper hand. But nevertheles, we will need assistance
[12:32] Admiral Ashbourne :=A= Indeed, which is why the Lassen and the Harrisburg are going with you. They are docked and waiting for you commands, Lt. =A=
[12:32] Chase Quinnell: Understood, Admiral.
[12:32] Admiral Ashbourne :=A= Ashbourne out =A=
[12:33] Reina Beaumont: Kazon, lovely
[12:33] Chase Quinnell: Signal the Lassen and the Harrisburg that we are about to leave.
[12:33] Silkie Dagger: Aye, Sir
[12:34] Chase Quinnell: Open a channel to the Cascade
[12:34] Reina Beaumont: they're not all that technologically powerful, but their weapons pack a punch, they tend to try and intimadate to make up for their lack of strength
[12:34] Reina Beaumont: ::calls up Admiral Janeway's reports and reads them again:: Shouldn't be a problem
[12:35] Silkie Dagger: Channel open, Sir
[12:35] Chase Quinnell: This is the USS Redeemer, requesting undocking clearance.
[12:35] Chase Quinnell: You are cleared, Redeemer. The Lassen and Harrisburg will follow shortly. Good luck.
[12:35] Chase Quinnell: Quinnell out.
[12:36] Silkie Dagger closes the channel.
[12:36] Chase Quinnell: Alright, lets undock.
[12:36] Chase Quinnell: Helm, engage maneuvering thrusters and clear us from the station
[12:36] Reina Beaumont: Tactical systems are at peak performance, captain, we should be able to last in a fight now, looks like she got some refits to her shields and weapons
[12:36] Jim Foxley: Half impulse forward, sir.
[12:37] Chase Quinnell: Set course for the Ruulak system, warp 8.
[12:37] Chase Quinnell: Engage.
[12:37] Jim Foxley: Course set, engaging.
[12:37] Chase Quinnell: Reina, give your officers some training excersises
[12:38] Chase Quinnell: We will need to be prepared incase they somehow manage to board us.
[12:38] Reina Beaumont: already being done, I issued the report and order while you were talking to the Admiral
[12:38] Chase Quinnell nods.
[12:38] Silkie Dagger nods in agreement
[12:38] Chase Quinnell: Good.
[12:38] Reina Beaumont: if the Kazon try to beam over, they find themselves being one with the bulkhead
[12:38] Chase Quinnell: Science, I want to know if there is anything in the Ruulak system we can use to our advantage.
[12:39] You: very good sir, scaning the databases for phenomina...
[12:39] Reina Beaumont: ::reads through reports of a lot of the crew being happy to see her, ends up telling them she's only on the Redeemer for this one mission::
[12:39] Chase Quinnell: ::The ship is nearing the Ruulak system::
[12:40] Reina Beaumont: yellow alert, captain?
[12:40] Chase Quinnell: aye. take us to yellow alert
[12:40] Chase Quinnell: Shields up
[12:40] Chase Quinnell: Take us out of warp, Mr. Foxley.
[12:40] Reina Beaumont: yellow alert, aye, shields holding
[12:41] Jim Foxley: Out of warp in three... Impulse now, sir.
[12:41] Reina Beaumont: scanning the area
[12:41] Reina Beaumont: ships incoming, captain, Excelsior class
[12:42] Reina Beaumont: ::Two Excelsior class ships close in on the Redeemer::
[12:42] Chase Quinnell: Lets disable their engines and weapons.
[12:42] Jim Foxley programs combat maneuvers on his console.
[12:42] Reina Beaumont: scanning them, their shields and weapons aren't to the conformed norms, looks like the Kazon upgraded them. They were being upgraded at the time they were stolen, looks like they finished the job
[12:42] Chase Quinnell: Attack pattern Omega 2.
[12:42] Reina Beaumont: Omega Two, aye
[12:42] Chase Quinnell sighs
[12:42] Chase Quinnell: Never easy is it?
[12:43] Jim Foxley: Maneuvering.
[12:43] Reina Beaumont: if it were easy, we would send probes to do the work
[12:43] Reina Beaumont: firing at their power junctions
[12:43] Orion Pastorelli furrows his brow looking for somthing in the science data for the sector
that could be used as a tactical advantage...
[12:43] Reina Beaumont: we could try using prefix codes, if they've not changed them
[12:43] Chase Quinnell: Aye, ops, work on getting those codes to work.
[12:44] Silkie Dagger: Aye Sir, on it now.
[12:44] Chase Quinnell: ::An excelsior ship fires at the Sovereign::
[12:44] Reina Beaumont: I wonder how the Kazon knew how to finish the upgrades, from the Admiral's reports, the Kazon aren't exactly the smartest bricks in the barrel
[12:44] Chase Quinnell: Order the Lassen to take the second ship, have the Harrisburg assist us with this one.
[12:44] Reina Beaumont: shields are holding at 92%
[12:45] Jim Foxley: Engaging evasive maneuvers.
[12:45] Silkie Dagger starts trying to input the codes **grabs on to the console**
[12:45] Reina Beaumont: modulating shields, aiming and firing
[12:45] Chase Quinnell: Guess those upgrades helped, eh?
[12:45] Reina Beaumont: ::targets the primarily power junctions in the aft sections of the Excelsior class ship::
[12:46] Reina Beaumont: that got them, their shields are failing, all their systems are beginning to overload
[12:46] Silkie Dagger: Sir... the Lassen is reporting that the second ship has been disabled.
[12:46] Reina Beaumont: never underestimate the Kazon, and never underestimate Starfleet
[12:46] Chase Quinnell: Good, good.
[12:46] Reina Beaumont: reading a complete shutdown on that ship, captain
[12:47] Silkie Dagger continues trying the codes, but with no luck
[12:47] Reina Beaumont: guess they changed them
[12:47] Chase Quinnell: Well, drat.
[12:47] Chase Quinnell: Have we disabled the first ship yet?
[12:47] Reina Beaumont: odd, the Kazon, from the Admiral's reports, aren't exactly what you would call smart, so how could they have done all this work?
[12:47] Chase Quinnell: No idea
[12:48] Chase Quinnell: But I'd like to find out
[12:48] Reina Beaumont: and even more, how did they get all the way here? We're at least 50'000 light years away from Kazon space
[12:48] Reina Beaumont: hmm..
[12:49] Chase Quinnell: Been wondering that myself
[12:49] Reina Beaumont: ::quickly looks up another of Admiral Janeway's reports::
[12:49] Reina Beaumont: Orion, scan for these readings
[12:49] Reina Beaumont: ::sends over the report to Orion's station::
[12:49] Chase Quinnell: Any idea where they are constructing their defiant?
[12:50] Reina Beaumont: not yet, we would need to beam over there and get the data from the computers, if they put it there
[12:50] Reina Beaumont: if not, then I have a theory on where the data is
[12:50] Chase Quinnell: Ok, put together an away team.
[12:50] Orion Pastorelli nods, "ok , I think I got it, there is and astroid field in this sector with heavy mineral deposts and unsually magnetic activity that our sensors can't penitrate... however I am getting flashes of the readings your asking for...
[12:50] Reina Beaumont: ::issues an order for an away team comprised of Marines and Security:: They're getting ready now, captain
[12:51] Chase Quinnell: would be a good place to hide a shipyard...
[12:51] Reina Beaumont: I thought so, the Think Tank
[12:51] Reina Beaumont: I think the Kazon got help from the Think Tank
[12:51] Chase Quinnell: Think Tank?
[12:52] Reina Beaumont: Voyager encountered them several years ago, a group of people who solve problems, for a price
[12:52] Chase Quinnell: I see.
[12:52] Silkie Dagger was going to say 'Think Tank?', but the captain beat her to it.
[12:52] Reina Beaumont: they may have helped the Kazon to find a wormhole to here and to steal our ships
[12:52] Chase Quinnell: Hmm..
[12:53] Orion Pastorelli bites his lip, "or create an artifical one, check this out, ma'am, *uploads to tacical*
[12:53] Silkie Dagger hears the explanation and mutters to herself, "Interesting.."
[12:53] Chase Quinnell: Well, either way, we have a ship to eliminate.
[12:53] Reina Beaumont: open a hail in subspace, the fregency is in the Admiral's report
[12:53] Silkie Dagger: Opening, Ma'am
[12:54] Reina Beaumont: captain, let's offer them something to make the Kazon bugger off
[12:54] Chase Quinnell: Like what?
[12:54] Reina Beaumont: me
[12:54] Chase Quinnell: You?
[12:54] Reina Beaumont: they always want something unquie
[12:54] Chase Quinnell: And how wil lwe get you back?
[12:55] Reina Beaumont: well I'm the perfect bait
[12:55] Reina Beaumont: don't worry about that, I'll be fine. I always have a plan in mind
[12:55] Reina Beaumont: they'll want me to stay, I studied everything that the Admiral and Seven of Nine reported about them
[12:56] Reina Beaumont: just keep a lock on me
[12:56] Orion Pastorelli looks at LT. Chase, "sir this may be the location of thier shipyard, our sensors arn't able to penitrate, but Reina could infilltrate under the pretence of a POW."
[12:56] Reina Beaumont: easily done
[12:59] Reina Beaumont: beam me over to one of the Excelsior ships, keep a lock on me, let them beam me aboard, then leave the system, make it look like you're falling back. I'll disable them from within, then you beam me back and we can get them to leave
[13:00] Jim Foxley: Ma'am, may I suggest you 'decide' to giv'em some 'secret' information about a Starfleet communications spy satellite in exchange for their not bugging with SF again? We could be right at the spot waiting for them.
[13:01] Reina Beaumont: I'm sure I can manage that, there's several disused ones around
[13:01] Jim Foxley: We may loose sensor contact if they go through the wormhole.
[13:02] Reina Beaumont: not for long, I've got a dermal locator on me, you can lock onto it's signal
[13:03] Reina Beaumont: after what happened to the other Reina, I had it implanted in me
[13:03] Reina Beaumont: took some doing
[13:03] Chase Quinnell: How does it work exactly?
[13:03] Reina Beaumont: it uses a subspace signal that keeps going, I just have to activate it by pressing down in my ring finger nail
[13:04] Chase Quinnell: Sounds like something from a spy novel.
[13:04] Reina Beaumont: newly invented, it was felt to be the best choice

[13:04] Chase Quinnell: I see
[13:04] Reina Beaumont: and Section 31 owed me
[13:04] Chase Quinnell: Section 31?
[13:05] Chase Quinnell: I thought they were dissolved
[13:05] Reina Beaumont: let's just say I did them favour years ago, many favours, so they owed me
[13:05] Reina Beaumont: they're still around, but it's all classfied
[13:05] Chase Quinnell: I see
[13:05] Reina Beaumont: I'm ready to beam over
[13:05] Chase Quinnell mutters under his breath
[13:05] Chase Quinnell: Ok, energize when ready, Lt.
[13:05] Reina Beaumont: just lock on the signal if you have to, I'll activate it now
[13:05] Jim Foxley: Anyway, let's set a meeting point at that old junk satellite near Omicron 5.
[13:06] Reina Beaumont presses down on her ring finger and activates the locator
[13:06] Chase Quinnell: Agreed.
[13:06] Reina Beaumont: here goes
[13:06] Silkie Dagger: Good luck
[13:06] Chase Quinnell: Keep a lock on her signal

< Reina is now on the Kazon ship >

[13:06] Reina Beaumont beams over and surrenders to the Kazon
[13:07] Reina Beaumont: okay, take me to your leader
[13:07] Jim Foxley: Aye.
[13:07] Chase Quinnell: Ok, now it's time to leave the system.
[13:07] ::Kazon Leader - Keep her under guard::
[13:07] Orion Pastorelli addresess Lt. Quinnell, "sir, there is till the matter of the defient class ship, what is that status of thoses orders?"
[13:07] Jim Foxley: Course, sir?
[13:07] Chase Quinnell: Reverse course out of the system
[13:07] Chase Quinnell: Have the Lassen and Harrisburg follow suit.
[13:08] Reina Beaumont: ::the Kazon watch as the Starfleet ships leave, then they head back to the ship yards::
[13:08] Chase Quinnell: The Defiant will be dealt with, trust me.
[13:08] Jim Foxley: Course set, engaging.
[13:08] Reina Beaumont: you never had a Starfleet officer surrender to you before, huh?
[13:08] Orion Pastorelli nods, "understood, sir"
[13:08] ::Kazon - Silence, female, you don't permission to speak::
[13:09] Reina Beaumont: well really, no wonder it's said men think between their legs, honestly
[13:09] Jim Foxley: I'm quite sure Lt. Beaumont can extract a piece of information from them.
[13:09] Reina Beaumont: so how did you get here?
[13:09] Silkie Dagger tries not to grin
[13:09] Chase Quinnell: This is good, Lt. Hold position here
[13:10] Jim Foxley: Aye, holding position.
[13:11] Kazon - I said silence!:: ::Kazon lashes out and the butt of a rifle smashes against her head::
[13:11] Reina Beaumont: Is that the best you can do? Wow, big man, hit a wee lass on the head, bet you feel all manly now, what are you going to do now? Strut and try to be like your boss? I'm so scared, really, so scared, aye, really. Wow, so scared. Pathetic
[13:11] Reina Beaumont: ::the stolen ships dock at the ship yards and Kurros appears, isomorphic hologram of him anyway::
[13:12] ::Kurros - Interesting, you gave yourself up to save your crew mates.
[13:12] Reina Beaumont: yeah yeah, so what's the scoop? Why are you helping these apes and what's in it for you?
[13:13] ::Kurros - After Voyager left, we managed to retreat for repairs. When we learned of Voyager returning home, we tried to contact the Borg, but they have been quite quiet lately. We contacted the Kazon a year ago and offered them our services, for a price of course
[13:13] Reina Beaumont: of course, not like you have a heart after all, just a big head
[13:13] Reina Beaumont: so what then?
[13:14] ::Kurros - They were still looking for Voyager, even though she hadn't been in their space for a long time. We offered them a way to get the technology they wanted, by having a wormhole made for them. We then helped them to steal the ships and the plans
[13:14] Reina Beaumont: I see, and what was your price?
[13:15] ::Kurros - The half Kazon and half Cardassian child, of course. Truly special
[13:15] Reina Beaumont: well you've got a special item here, a one in a million forced immortal
[13:16] ::Kurros - Of course. And what do you have to offer, other than yourself?
[13:17] Reina Beaumont: well I've got some info that might increase your knowledge, one of our satellites back in the Alpha Quadrant recently aqquired scans of a new galaxy forming, quite the view, plus some very senistive knowledge on the Borg
[13:17] ::Kurros - You would offer that to us? I am doubtful if you are sincere
[13:17] Reina Beaumont: you're reading my mind, aren't you? I'm sincere, go on and take the info before it's fully downloaded
[13:18] ::Kurros - Very well. You will come aboard our ship and we will head to the satellite
[13:18] Reina Beaumont: no problem, lead the way
[13:18] Reina Beaumont: ::enters the Think Tank, the locator still going strong, and the Think Tank heads for the Alpha Quadrant::
[13:19] Reina Beaumont: ::Ten hours later, they reach the satellite::
[13:19] Reina Beaumont: go ahead, no one's here
[13:19] Jim Foxley: Lt. Beaumont is strong, sir.
[13:19] Chase Quinnell nods.
[13:19] ::Kurros - Why do I feel that you are playing about?
[13:19] Jim Foxley: *signal*
[13:20] Reina Beaumont: me? lil ol' me? Oh really, we've chatted for hours, you know everything about me...well...almost everything. ::Takes out a phaser grenade from between her breasts and activates it, then throws it into the drive core::
[13:21] Reina Beaumont: tick tock, tick tock, someone's screwed
[13:21] ::Kurros - How did you hide that? We scanned you!
[13:22] Reina Beaumont: well there's this wee matter of my being somewhat hard to scan, unless I want to be, and I didn't want to be, so you got a false scan. Now how about you call the Kazon, get them to destroy their ships they're making and bugger off on home? Or do I need to stick the second grenade down your thousers?
[13:22] Reina Beaumont: and I will too
[13:23] ::Kurros - Take us out of subspace!
[13:23] Reina Beaumont: ::The Think Tank appears out of sub space::
[13:23] Reina Beaumont: good boy! You get a cookie
[13:23] Reina Beaumont taps her comm badge
[13:23] Reina Beaumont: you can beam me back now, this ship's about to blow in two minutes
[13:23] Chase Quinnell: Ops, beam her out of there.
[13:24] Silkie Dagger: Aye Sir
[13:24] Reina Beaumont: ::beams back on board as Kurros begins to scream in horror
[13:24] Reina Beaumont: man, for a group of smart people, they sure are dumb
[13:24] Chase Quinnell grins
[13:24] Orion Pastorelli: yeah, how bout that...
[13:25] Chase Quinnell: Status on the Defiant vessels?
[13:25] Reina Beaumont: never underestimate me
[13:25] Reina Beaumont: most likely the Kazon are destroying them now
[13:25] Chase Quinnell: Scan the area, I want to be sure.
[13:25] Orion Pastorelli: wouln't even think of it, ma'am...
[13:25] Reina Beaumont: and there's the fact that I left them a little virus, the locator wasn't the only thing I had on me
[13:25] Chase Quinnell: You really are full of surprises aren't you Lt.
[13:26] Reina Beaumont: I move fast, dropped by my temporal quarters quickly and picked up a few things, small things
[13:26] Reina Beaumont: felt I would need them
[13:26] Chase Quinnell: Lets get our Exelsior ships and bring them back to command.
[13:27] Chase Quinnell: While you were gone, we found the life-signs of the crews locked in the cargo bays.
[13:27] Chase Quinnell: Apparently the Kazon wanted to use them as hostages.
[13:27] Reina Beaumont: we would be best having a few ships look for the artifical wormhole that the Think Tank made
[13:27] Reina Beaumont: good to know that we've got survivours
[13:27] Chase Quinnell: Aye, I'll have the Lassen look for the wormhole.
[13:28] Chase Quinnell: The Harrisburg and we will take the ships back home.
