The USS Shogun sets course for a planet where they can complete repairs and take some much needed shore leave. But is it too good to be true?

Location: 190.71LY Trailing Pinastri System, Sector 013F

Alert Status: Green

The crew have done an excellent job with repairs and with evading notice from any other Hirogen that may be out there. Now we turn to the next problem... finding somewhere with more advanced technology to put in for repairs. We have been lucky with this in the past, so when we received a signal a few light years from our present position, we were hopeful. We have started in that direction in hopes of finding a station with orbital repair facilities as well as a planet that many of our crew can take some much needed R&R on.

The USS Shogun made her way to a planet believed to have advanced technology. However the planet did not respond to her hails. When they arrived, the discovered an unmanned space station in orbit over the planet. The station's design was compatible with pre-warp space stations on old earth. There was a heavy ion layer in the atmosphere, making it difficult to get accurate senor readings of the planet below. It was also impossible to beam down or send a shuttle safely through that heavy ion layer. So Captain Ulrich Bechir sent an away team to investigate the satellite.

When the team arrived, they discovered the station was automated, kept in preparation for short term visits. The station was only used intermittently, and it seemed to have two primary functions: 1) automated repair drones for space craft and 2) a facility to beam through the heavy ion layer to the planet's surface. Captain Bechir brought over additional Engineers, Science Officers and Operations Officers to assure the station functioned the way they believed it did. They also assured it would be safe to use the transporter to beam down to the surface.

Then Captain Bechir ordered two away teams to beam to the surface and explore it. When they arrived, they found what looked like a tropical paradise or resort area. It has some modern technology, such as automated bars and food service areas (similar to a replicator) and plasma torches. These modern technology devices were carefully concealed to give the effect of a privative tropical resort. However, if there was any other technology on the planet, it was so carefully masked that the away teams could not detect it. The only communications signals they could detect were old earth style frequency modulated radio waves that carried a variety of musical selections.

The teams went separate directions to explore the planet, carefully on guard for the unexpected, but finding nothing dangerous. The planet was void of insects, thorns, weeds or poisonous plants. It did, however, have several supply stations of lounge chairs, recreational equipment and refreshment dispensers.

They eventually came across a single humanoid, who appeared to be the care taker of the facilities. The away teams dialogged with him and discovered he had knowledge of modern technology. He was aware of the space station orbiting above the planet and revealed that they had another launching facility on the southern hemisphere of the planet, carefully concealed. The inhabits of this planet did indeed possess warp technology, but did not seem particularly interested in using it. Their automated repair bots were a higher level of technology than Starfleet possesses.

The caretaker invited Captain Bechir to take advantage of their facilities—all of their facilities, including the space station repair bots and the recreational facilities on the planet. Captain Bechir accepted the offer. He had Engineering oversee working with the repair bots, and he also ordered a week of shore leave in rotating shifts. Each crew member was to be given a minimum of 48 hours shore leave.
