The USS Ironman, under the command of Captain St'ark, is currently serves ASDB, due to the combined sense of humor of the serving Joint Chief of UF Starfleet Operations, Commodore Mistwallow, and his Vice Chief Mac Gaelyth. St'ark himself, being a fan of terran 'art storytelling' history jumped at the chance to command the Ironman.
The USS Ironman is a testbed starship for Starfleet Engineering, testing out the newest theoretical defensive and offensive technologies, focusing mostly on energy weapons, Electronic/Subspace Warfare, Shielding, and Ablative Armour technology.

The Ironman usually has prototype technology on it, and thus it is rare to see her in combat or standard missions outside of their normal duties of testing equipment. However, it has the following.
Subspace Warfare Technology: This automatically scans and subverts any and all enemy (and occasionally friendly) subspace transmissions, with an AI program that is designed to sow misinformation to fleets of ships. Captain St'ark has been known however, to use this technology to blast music at mock targets as a 'Psychological Warfare' attempt.
Ablative Armour Generation: The Ironman has a temperamental Ablative Armor generator, which deploys a thick skin that can give a good five minutes or so's worth of protection against sustained energy and kinetic weapons. It has however been known to get 'stuck' prior to deploying the armor.
Prototype Energy Weapons: these can be beams of varying power and abilities, ranging from as strong as Borg Cutting Beams, to as ineffective as Lasers.
