Alexandria responds to a call for help, from an allied station.
My first officer informed me that he was to begin an "upgrade" procedure from a Mark 4 Hologram to a Mark 5. I confess that I am not sure how I feel about this. I have never really concidered my first officer to actually be a piece of technology. My Chief Engineer assures me that the upgrade will not "change" Chad but somehow I remain reluctant.
To me, its easy to forget that he is just a protection of light and energy with computer pathways as a memory. He is also my friend and I care deeply about him. This new upgrade, Chad believes will allow him to better interface with the holographic imaging array that is already present on Alexandria and therefore interface directly with the main computer and "Jupiter" who is also still present in our computer core.
It is getting a little crowded in there.
The transition went rather smoothly and both my Chief Engineer and my Vice Chief Engineer assure me that Chad will be alright. His uptronic datacore has been enlarged allowing him to retain even more information and his computer interfacing has been enhanced.
However we have noticed a change in his personality, he seems to be a little... less agreeable now, he told me not to worry my little "hooves". I wonder if his personality subroutines were affected during the upgrades. I am going to have Engineering take a look at him.
I remember the last time technology on Alexandria went haywire.
